British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who rose to fame after playing at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will make his Australian debut in 2020.

The Australian Festival of Chamber Music has announced the Kanneh-Mason will perform in the 2020 festival in Townsville. The cellist said of his debut, "I'm very excited to visit Australia for the first time. Playing great music with wonderful musicians is what I'm looking forward to most."

Kanneh-Mason won the BBC Young Musician of the Year Award in 2016. One of seven children, he hails from a musical family, who performed together on a British reality TV show in 2015.

The festival also announced Austrian horn player Radovan Vlatković, British soprano Carolyn Sampson, William Barton (didgeridoo) and Diana Doherty (oboe), will feature in 2020. The Concert Host will be the BBC's Petroc Trelawney.
