The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present the fifth Elizabeth Loker International Concerto Competition, an international competition open to young musicians aged 12 to 25 from around the world.
Three selected finalists will have the exclusive opportunity to perform live with the full Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, offering a unique experience in the landscape of international concerto competitions.
Participation requirements: - Age between 12 and 25 years - Ability to perform a complete concerto - Video recording of the entire concerto to be uploaded to YouTube - Application fee: $100 (non-refundable)
Selection process: The process consists of two phases. In the first phase, candidates must submit a complete video recording of their chosen concerto via YouTube link, along with the application and fee by December 1, 2025. Finalists will be selected by a professional jury and announced on January 16, 2026.
Final round: On March 15, 2026, the three finalists will perform live with the full orchestra at the Todd Performing Arts Center in Wye Mills, Maryland. All finalists will receive detailed feedback, both written and verbal, from professional judges.

The competition is dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Loker, the first woman vice president of the Washington Post, who actively supported the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. Her generous donation made the establishment of this competition possible.
