KORK is known as the orchestra that belongs to the whole country. It consists of 54 musicians, and is based at the NRK studios in Marienlyst, Oslo. The orchestra has an extensive concert programme, playing music of all genres and undertaking tours around the country. KORK presents programmes for children and young people and contributes to major national events, such as the Nobel prizewinner’s concert and NRK’s traditional Christmas concert. In the autumn of 2014, KORK and its musicians played a leading role in a new TV series. The orchestra visited towns and villages all over Norway and played together with talented musicians from the area. KORK is actively involved on all NRK’s media platforms.
