The VFO sets the gold standard for the training of orchestral players and for 20 years it has been a career launchpad for many of today’s most sought-after musicians.
Audition live in Berlin, Cologne, Geneva, London, Los Angeles, Montreal, Moscow, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, St Petersburg, or Zurich, or send in a video application.
The VFO 2020 will be conducted by Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda, Mikhail Pletnev, Antonio Pappano, and Christoph Eschenbach, following two weeks of training led by principal musicians from New York's Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
