The Joensuu City Orchestra with its 35 musicians is an energetic ensemble with a varied repertoire. Its home venue is the Carelia Hall. Artistic Director since autumn 2019 is Eero Lehtimäki and artistic partners are Minna Pensola and Iiro Rantala.

Audition date Sunday October 25th 2020 at 1 p.m.
Place Joensuu Conservatory Concert Hall, Rantakatu 31, 80100 JOENSUU

Set of works
1. Mozart: Violin Concerto 3 G, 4 D or 5 A , 1st movement with cadenza
2. 10 minutes long piece played with the pianist, applicants free choice. Piece can be a movement of a larger composition.
3. Orchestral excerpts, which will be sent via e-mail after the closing date

Starting date of employment January 7th 2021 or as agreed
Basic salary based on collective labor agreement. There might also be some additions based on collective labor agreement.
Trial period six months

To apply: Send the completed application form and a short CV that contains the most appropriate details of your education and qualifications, and professional work experience as a musician (max 2 pages, in .doc, .rtf or .pdf format) by e-mail: orkesteri@joensuu.fi

Remember to say whether you wish to use our pianist. Use of own accompanist by your own expenses is also allowed. Also the piece of free choice needs to be informed in the application form. Applicant must deliver the piano score of the free choice piece to orkesteri@joensuu.fi latest 14th October.
