The Kansas City Symphony has a policy now in effect which requires all staff and musicians, including audition applicants, to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 prior to coming to work or take part in an audition. Audition applicants must be fully vaccinated (two weeks passed since the final shot in the series) before attending an audition with the Kansas City Symphony. More information on this policy will be sent upon application.

In addition to a one-page résumé (due by Friday, August 26, 2022), applicants must send a refundable check for $100 made payable to the Kansas City Symphony no later than Monday, September 12, 2022.Our audition committee will review résumés after the August 26 deadline and will then notify all applicants of their invitation status for this audition by email. The musicians we are inviting will be given an assigned audition time only after we have received a deposit check by the above stated deadline. Invited musicians will have their deposit check returned to them at the audition or if a cancellation is made prior to one week before the audition. For those not invited, the $100 deposit will be destroyed following the audition.

This vacancy for Associate Concertmaster is tenure track. It is expected that the winner of this audition will begin employment with the Kansas City Symphony in January 2023 or upon mutual agreement no later than September 2023 for the start of the 2023-2024 season.
