The Orchestra of Opera North is seeking to add experienced and collaborative musicians to the existing list of string extra and deputy players.
The Orchestra of Opera North holds a unique place amongst British orchestras. Universally praised by audiences and critics alike, the orchestra is the only ensemble in the country to have a year-round dual role in the opera house and concert hall.
With headquarters in Leeds and deep roots across the community, we devise work to tour throughout the North of England, as well as nationally and internationally, and invest in dedicated educational partnerships throughout each season.

How to Apply:

To apply to audition please submit a 1 page CV and application via Musical Chairs by 11pm Monday 20 Jan.
Please note this post is only open to players with a right to work in the United Kingdom

Selected applicants will be invited to a live, unscreened audition at the Howard Opera Centre Leeds. Please click on the below link to download the audition extracts.
A concerto will not need to be prepared of this audition.

Auditions for selected candidates will be held at the Howard Opera Centre Harrison Street, Leeds LS1 6PA.
Dates will be through the first half of 2025 and will be advised to selected candidates with advanced notice.
