The following position is to be filled as of January 1st, 2027 or by agreement: Viola, Assistant Principal, 100% - Permanent
Required Pieces
Stamitz or Hoffmeister: 1st movement with cadenza from a concerto for viola
J.S. Bach: Two different movements from the Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, or from the Suites for solo cello
Choice Piece
Bartók or Walton: 1st movement from the concertos for viola
or Hindemith: 1st movement from "Schwanendreher"
The orchestral excerpts will be announced with the invitation to the audition. These are expected to be required in the 1st round.
Anticipated Audition Date:
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, 10:00 a.m. in Zurich (ZKO-Haus, Seefeldstrasse 305, CH-8008 Zurich)
