The Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine is recruiting for its cello section: 1 Principal Cello position - 1st category A on Friday, November 27, 2026.
A full member of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, the ONBA contributes to opera and ballet productions, and also offers a vast symphonic season at the Auditorium de Bordeaux, complemented by chamber music projects in various venues.

You may also be asked to play one or more of the excerpts in any round of the audition.

  • Each round is eliminatory.

You can be eliminated at each round of the audition.

  • Bowings are not imposed.

Bowings are at your convenience.

  • The jury reserves the right to remove the screen in the 2nd round on the day of the audition if deemed necessary.
    The jury may decide to remove the screen on the 2nd round if they think it is necessary.

Au cours du troisième tour, les candidats pourront être amenés à jouer un ou plusieurs traits d’orchestre avec le pupitre de violoncelles.
During the third round, the candidates may be asked to play one or several orchestra excerpts with the cellos section.
A l’issue des trois épreuves artistiques, les candidats retenus sont reçus en entretien avec le jury assisté du Directeur.rice des Ressources Humaines ou, le cas échéant de son représentant, en tant que conseiller afin d’évaluer leur capacité à s’insérer dans un travail d’ensemble.
At the end of the three first rounds, the shortlisted candidates are interviewed by the members of the jury, assisted by a member of Human Ressources or a representative, in order to estimate the candidates’ ability to work in a group.
