The Edinburgh International Festival is searching for emerging string players to take part a tailored mentorship opportunity throughout August 2024.

The emerging artists will have the opportunity to work alongside musicians including violinist Liza Ferschtman, violist Jennifer Stumm, and musicians from the artist collective and social equity initiative Ilumina.

This paid opportunity is open to musicians of conservatoire-level musicians from the UK and internationally, with available spaces for six violin, viola cello and double bass players.

The programme will culminate in a performance opportunity for the rising musicians at The Hub, home of the Edinburgh International Festival.

The International Festival will offer a fee starting at £650, with contributions to travel costs and accommodation also provided to open the opportunity for equal participation.

Applicants must be available for the following dates:

Rehearsals: 15 – 17 August 2024

Performance: 17 August 2024

To be considered, candidates will need to submit a video audition in the format of a private link to the video on YouTube, Vimeo, etc; a current C.V, plus details of current teacher if applicable.
