23-year-old violinist Daniel Lozakovich has signed an exclusive agreement with Warner Classics. The Stockholm-born musician will release his first Warner Classics album in August 2024, which will be a recital in collaboration with pianist Mikhail Pletnev.
The programme includes César Franck’s Sonata for Violin and Piano FWV 8, Edvard Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 3 Op. 45 and ‘Solveig’s Song’ from Peer Gynt Op. 55, and Dimitri Shostakovich’s ‘Romance’ from The Gadfly Op. 97a and a Violin Sonata jointly composed by Alexi Shor and Pletnev.
’It is an immense honour to join the Warner Classics family, to which most of my favourite musicians in history belong,’ said Lozakovich. ’My main goal in joining this legendary label is to have artistic freedom, create a musical world, and record works of immortal beauty with musicians I love. For me, making music is a spiritual key to unlocking the truth of the soul.’

Lozakovich’s recent 2023/24 highlights include recital debut in Carnegie Hall and Grand Hall of the Concertgebouw, a tour with Oslo Philharmonic and Klaus Mäkelä which leads him to Oslo Konserthuset, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Paris Philharmonie and Vienna Konzerthaus.
Lozakovich is the recipient of many prizes including first prize at the 2016 Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition and the Young Artist of the Year 2017 award at the Festival of Nations, the Premio Batuta Award in Mexico, and the Excelentia Prize under the honorary presidency of Queen Sofia of Spain.
Born in Stockholm in 2001, Lozakovich began playing the violin at the age of seven. Two years later, he made his solo debut with Moscow Virtuosi and Vladimir Spivakov. Lozakovich studied at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with professor Josef Rissin from 2012 and graduated with a master’s degree in 2021. From 2015 has been mentored by Eduard Wulfson in Geneva.
Lozakovich plays the ’ex-Sancy’ 1713 Stradivari generously loaned by LVMH / MOËT HENNESSY LOUIS VUITTON.
