The Deutsche Radio Philharmonie is the joint radio symphony orchestra of Saarländischer Rundfunk and Südwestrundfunk. Pietari Inkinen has been chief conductor since 2017. The "Skrowaczewski Academy" of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie is named after its long-standing guest and honorary conductor Stanisław Skrowaczewski, whose 100th birthday falls in the year the academy was founded. In addition to their participation in the orchestra (maximum 110 days per calendar year), academy members receive individual lessons, audition training, participation in chamber music projects and workshops with external experts. If the student is still enrolled, a corresponding certificate must be submitted. A training allowance of € 920 per month is granted. Travelling expenses will be covered in accordance with the SR's travel expenses regulations (2nd class train/train fare).
