The National Orchestra of Sweden
Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1905 and today consists of over 100 musicians. The orchestra’s home is the Gothenburg Concert Hall, which offers many opportunities for meetings and experiences for visitors of all ages.
Santtu-Matias Rouvali is the Chief Conductor. From season 2019-2020 he will get Barbara Hannigan and Christoph Eschenbach by his side as the orchestra’s first guest conductors – a strong three-leaf clover with three completely different artists.
All applicants are required to record excerpts below for the preliminary round . Please start all recordings with showing your ID or passport. Play in required order. All recordings have to be in one take and you mustn't talk.
A selected group of candidates will be invited to record one additional video and send in no later than February 14th for the first round (candidates will be contacted and informed), after which we'll make another selection, and organize a final round in Gothenburg March 21st.
Preliminary round: excerpts number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8.
First round: Dittersdorf D-Major concerto, 1st movement (without accompaniment) including candeza by Heinz Karl Gruber
or
Vanhal C-Major concerto, 1st movement (without accompaniment) including candeza by Heinz Karl Gruber.
Excerpts number 9,10, 11 and 12, recorded in that order.
The final round will be a live audition in Gothenburg March 21st.
