The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music announces the Violin Competition 2023 as the next contest in the series of Bartók World Competition in Budapest

APPLICANTS The competition is open to violinists from all nationalities aged max. 30 years (born on or after 2 September 1993)
ROUNDS The competition consists of a pre-selection round arranged by video, and three live competition rounds (a preliminary, a semi-final and a final) held at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. About thirty candidates will enter the Preliminary, twelve will make it to the Semi-final and six get into the Final. The competition ends with a Gala Concert including the Award Ceremony. The entire live competition is open to the public. The Final will be streamed live and broadcast on radio. Applicants shall give their consent to these recordings and broadcasts by applying for the competition. Competitors admitted to the Final are provided with hotel accommodation.

PRIZES: 1st prize 22 000 EUR 2nd prize 14 000 EUR 3rd prize 8 000 EUR Prizes are gross amounts. Special prizes such as concert and recording opportunities will also be offered.
APPLICATION Personal data and full competition repertoire is to be specified on the online application form found on the webpage (bartokworldcompetition.hu). All applicants have to upload: · a professional photo (headshot, portrait format, min. 1MB, 300 dpi, JPG) · a bio (1000-2000 characters) about professional studies and achievements, including competitions, masterclasses and performances over the last three years (doc file) · a video recording of the required pieces to be seen on the webpage under Repertoire – Qualifying Only high quality and recent video recordings (taken on or after 1 January 2023) will be accepted. Audio recordings are not accepted. The recording should show the applicant and his/her (piano) accompanist. Each piece should be recorded in a single take (no editing permitted). Works presented on this recording may be included in the programme of the live competition rounds. · Copy of passport (or ID for EU citizens)
Only complete application material will be considered.
A pre-selection jury nominated by the President of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music will decide on the admission of candidates to the competition. |
