The Charleston Symphony announces an audition for:

Full-time resident core musician, tenure-track position, with chamber music & education/community engagement duties

2022-23 Season: September 19, 2022 – April 30, 2023
(32 weeks total including 2 weeks paid vacation)

Audition Date: Monday, September 12, 2022 (with possible trial weeks in Fall 2022)

Interested applicants should submit a one-page resumé including at least one personal and one professional reference in pdf format (titled “LastNameFirstInitial_bass”, e.g. “DoeJ_bass”) by August 5 via the form below.

Resumés will be screened by the audition committee, and all applicants will be notified via email by August 15 whether or not they have been invited to the audition.

A $50 deposit check (required to reserve an audition time) must be received in Charleston by August 29. Audition reservation cancellations after September 6 will result in forfeiture of the audition deposit.

•  Invited candidates must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (initial dose(s) + booster)  upon acceptance of invitation before being assigned an audition time.
• Please note that in order to audition, a candidate must already possess all documentation that allows him/her to work legally in the United States.
• Prior to being offered employment with the CSO, all potential employees are subject to the CSO’s administrative hiring procedures, including but not limited to reference checks, background checks, etc.
