Pierre Guillaume learnt his craft following world-class masters, BAZIN, MORIZOT, OUCHARD and others, who passed on to him techniques reaching back several centuries. For his bows he uses only the best pernambuco and has been making periodic trips to Brazil since 1982 to select it in person. He has now accumulated a very large stock of wood enough to last him thirty years from which he can choose the most suitable for each bow. He is an active member of the IPCI, an association of professionals that strives to protect and promote sustainable use of pernambuco, the best wood for bow-making.
Today, the name Guillaume is widely recognised as standing for commitment, bow-making of unequalled quality and authoritative appraisals of old bows.
The workshop attracts musicians from Europe ’s largest orchestras (including the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic) and many soloists, such as Joshua Bell, Igor Oistrakh, Yuzuko Horigome, Henrich Schiff and Mischa Maisky, amongst others.)

Pierre Guillaume a appris son métier au contact de C.A.BAZIN, L. MORIZOT, J.OUCHARD… maîtres mondialement réputés qu'il a fréquentés durant ses années d'apprentissage et dont il a acquis les techniques centenaires. Il choisit rigoureusement le meilleur bois de pernambouc qu'il va lui-même sélectionner au Brésil depuis 1982. Il a ainsi acquis un très grand stock de bois. Il peut aujourd'hui et pendant les 30 prochaines années effectuer une sélection optimale pour chaque baguette.
P.Guillaume est membre actif de l'IPCI, association de professionnels qui opte et œuvre pour la protection et l'utilisation durable du pernambouc, le meilleur bois pour la fabrication des archets.
Le nom de Guillaume est aujourd'hui célèbre pour son sérieux , sa qualité de fabrication inégalée ainsi que pour l'autorité de ses expertises d'archets anciens.
Les musiciens des plus grands orchestres européens (Wiener Symphoniker, London Symphony, Philharmonique de Berlin…) fréquentent avec bonheur son atelier. Mais également de très nombreux solistes tels que Joshua Bell, Igor Oistrakh, Yuzuko Horigome, Henrich Schiff, Mischa Maisky….
