The Academy of the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz offers particularly gifted young musicians the opportunity to specifically prepare for a successful professional career as section leaders in an orchestra for a period of 2 years.
Scope of the Academy
The Academy comprises an average of 15 services per month (max. 165 per year) as well as participation in workshops.
In addition to classical topics such as mental training and audition training, the training program offers additional qualification opportunities in the areas of leadership behavior (professional leadership of a section, communication, conflict resolution).
The Academy member will be deployed at the front desks in selected projects. Furthermore, lessons with the principal players and chamber music with the other Academy members are part of the Academy training.
Requirements for a scholarship:

• Maximum age upon entry into the Academy: 28 years

• Copy of university diploma or certificate of enrollment

• Complete tabular curriculum vitae with photo

• Letter of motivation

• Information on which audition pieces will be performed

• Video (optional)

Travel expenses for the audition unfortunately CANNOT be reimbursed.

1st Round: classical concerto, 1st movement up to the end of the development and beginning of the 2nd movement, each without cadenzas
2nd Round:

Beethoven Symphony No. 9, Recitative and Theme
Beethoven Symphony No. 5, 3rd movement
Mozart Symphony No. 40, 1st movement
followed by a short interview
