Luca Ruggiero

Born in December 1979 in a small town in the province of Livorno (Italy), he started working in a carpenter's workshop at the age of 18.
There he learned the art of marquetry and carving and how to recognise and work all the varieties of wood.
During a formative experience, he came in contact with the world of lutherie.
He began his journey attending several master luthiers' workshops.
He builds his violins using inner forms based on original models made by Stradivari and Guarnieri, taken from Igino Sderci's workshop.
He uses alcohol based painting and oil painting on the instruments he builds.
He is learning to play the violin to better understand the musicians' various needs and to better set-up his instruments.
He participated to Pisogne's contest for antiquied instrument, submitting a Neapolitan model obtaining a good result
