Curriculum of the two-year academy training programme:
- Orchestral practice/orchestral studies with approx. 15 orchestral services per month in the Gewandhaus Orchestra in all its venues (Gewandhaus, Opera, St Thomas' Church),
- monthly scholarship of EUR 1,050,
- Individual lessons with musicians from the Gewandhaus Orchestra,
- regular chamber music concerts
- Training auditions
- Regular sports therapy training
- if possible, programmes on stress management, performance training, mediation, etc.
As part of the cooperation between the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, there is the opportunity to apply for the summer course at the Tanglewood Music Centre (more information at www.bso.org/Home ).
The TMC and the Gewandhaus Orchestra will cover the costs of participation, travel and accommodation for the academy students.
If accepted into the Mendelssohn Orchestra Academy, continuous attendance in Leipzig is required.
