Cuban-European Youth Academy

The Cuban-European Youth Academy (CuE)  is an innovative exchange and training program of the Balthasar Neumann Academy for young musicians from Europe and Cuba. They are working together in transatlantic orchestra projects and workshops and are taught by renowned teachers. As a complement to the training in their own country, they get to know a new culture of music and work.

10 Years of CuE: Project at the Rheingau Musik Festival

This year the Cuban-European Youth Academy (CuE) celebrates its 10th birthday!
To celebrate this jubilee, the Balthasar Neumann Academy invites former participants of the CuE as well as newly interested musicians to a project consisting in different chamber music programmes and a big orchestra program directed by Thomas Hengelbrock.

Preparation for the concerts includes not only rehearsals on the relevant works, but also workshops and courses on original instruments, music history from Cuba and Europe and getting to know the different cultures. Individual lessons and group rehearsals with experts in the respective instruments complement the academy.
