Through daily rehearsals and master classes, participants in the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY will work on contemporary orchestral, ensemble, and chamber music repertoire by an exciting range of composers, including Kurtág, Eötvös, Hauser, Zimmermann, Stockhausen, Nono and many others. Each participant’s work will be supervised by internationally acclaimed conductors, composers, and performers. Academy participants will perform several concerts at LUCERNE FESTIVAL and on tour.
There is no fee for active participation in the academy. Travel, accommodation, and meals, as well as scores and instrumental parts are provided.

Baltic Academies Orchestra
The Baltic Academies Orchestra (BAO) Masterclass was established in 2017. It has been founded to fill the gap between the education and professional practice and create an opportunity to introduce Baltic music. The masterclass takes place mostly in Tartu. Tartu is considered the intellectual center of the country, especially since it is home to the nation's oldest (established 1632) and most renowned university, the University of Tartu.
The accepted students (all orchestra instruments, conductors and composers) will get the chance to work with Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta and the Baltic Academies Orchestra. BAO Masterclass collaborates closely with the Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic, offering it forms a bridge and road for young professionals to enter a professional practice. The contact with professionals will be both formal and informal.
BAO Academy is a great opportunity for young musicians to develop their skills in a supporting atmosphere.

TSO/OSU Graduate Fellowships in String Orchestral Performance
Oklahoma State University, the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Patti Johnson Wilson Foundation, and the OSU Department of Music's String Area announce three graduate fellowships for 2018: one violin, one cello and one bass position.
A two-year program, this fellowship will allow qualified applicants to pursue a graduate degree at OSU while performing as section players with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.
Accepted applicants can expect to receive tuition waivers as well as health benefits while they are enrolled in the program.
Candidates must apply to and be accepted by both the OSU Graduate College and the Department of Music Master of Music program.
The application for admission to the Graduate College must be submitted online.
