The 2018 Orchestra Noir Solo Virtuoso Competitions
The 2018 Haydn, Mozart & Beethoven Solo Virtuoso Competition is open to all ethnicities, and nationalities from all countries. There is no age limit. Ysaye International Music Competition
On the 16th of July 2018, we will be celebrating the 160th birthday of the Belgian violinist and composer Eugene Ysaye.
In memory of Eugene Ysaye, the organizers wish to create a high level competition for young musicians. Their goal is to develop culture in Liege and give a chance for musicians from all around the world to show their talent.
The competition is devided into two parts: Violin (3 categories) and Chamber Music (2 categories).
Three prizes will be awarded per category. Cash prizes, instrumental material and vouchers will be distributed to the winners. The prizes will be awarded by the jury members and sponsors to the winners of the competition on the 21st July 2018 at the end of the gala concert.
Participants are also invited to apply for the "3rd International Music Camp" which will take place in Liège from the 21st to the 27th of July.

The Tibor Junior International Violin Competition, Switzerland for young talented violinists endeavours to find not only virtuosi but also future musicians. Through each stage of the competition, participants will be accompanied by an orchestra : in the first round by the orchestra of the HEMU Lausanne – and in the second round as well as in the final, by the Kremerata Baltica.
All candidates who do not qualify for the second round or final will have the opportunity to take part in a free masterclass, offered by a member of the jury.

Odessa International Violin Competition
Odessa International Violin Competition opens a new page in the cultural life of the city that can rightfully be considered the capital of the violin performing arts of Ukraine. Right there in Odessa in 1933, the Special Music School for gifted children was founded by professor Peter Stolyarsky who brought up a generation of outstanding violinists of the 20th century, among which are David Oistrakh and Nathan Milstein. The Stolyarsky School became a factory of talents discovering new names, whose performances captivate audience at the best venues of the world.
The competition is open to young violinists from all countries, and provides an opportunity to receive worldwide recognition and a ticket to a great creative life from the homeland of musicians whose names are written in gold in the world history of classical music.

"Il Piccolo Violino Magico"
“Il Piccolo Violino Magico” is an International Competition that will be held in San Vito al Tagliamento (Italy) from 4th to 8th July 2018.
It's reserved to young talented violinists aged 9 to 13 years and will consist in three different rounds. In the first two each candidate will perform accompanied by the string ensemble “Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni”: at the end of the semifinals 3 candidates will be selected and admitted to the final round where they will perform a solo-repertoire accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

2018 Washington International Competition for Strings
The Washington International Competition (WIC) was established in 1950 to support outstanding young classical musicians in their pursuit of professional careers. The WIC occurs in a three-year rotation for piano, strings and voice.
The 2018 Competition for Strings semifinals will take place at George Washington University on both Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23. Finals will take place on Sunday, June 24 at the Kennedy Center.
