"Il Piccolo Violino Magico"
“Il Piccolo Violino Magico” is an International Competition that will be held in San Vito al Tagliamento (Italy) from 4th to 8th July 2018.
It's reserved to young talented violinists aged 9 to 13 years and will consist in three different rounds. In the first two each candidate will perform accompanied by the string ensemble “Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni”: at the end of the semifinals 3 candidates will be selected and admitted to the final round where they will perform a solo-repertoire accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
Main Prizes 5000€, 3000€, 2000€

The International Anton Rubinstein Violin Junior Competition
The International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2018 for Violin Junior
will take place on 21th and 22th April 2018 at the International Music Academy in Düsseldorf/ Germany.
Violinists Violinists between the ages of 8 and 15 years old may take part in this competition. The competition will take place in two rounds, from which the Jury will decide the winners. The first round will be completed via video link on YouTube. The final round will take place in two categories in the International Music Academy in Düsseldorf/Germany.
Prizes are master bows as loan for 1 year.

Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship
The Fondation des Etats-Unis is currently accepting applications for its annual Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship. Eligible candidates are graduate and post-graduate musicians (instrumental, vocal, composition) of exceptional talent who wish to pursue advanced artistic studies in Paris, France during the upcoming academic year.
The HHW Scholarship is a private grant awarded under the auspices of the Fondation des Etats-Unis. It offers its winners numerous advantages, including:
- A 10,000 € stipend (may vary subject to fund earnings) for the upcoming academic year
- A rent-controlled live-in artist atelier or music studio at the Fondation des Etats-Unis
- Access to on-site performance and exhibition facilities, including a private art gallery and a historically significant concert

6International Competition of Chamber Ensembles Musical Aquarelle
International competition of chamber ensembles “Musical Aquarelle –2018” will take place on March 7-11 at Anykščiai music school. This competition gives an opportunity for young musicians to reveal their performing capabilities in chamber music also experience participating in international competition and diversity of performances.
We are glad to welcome pupils and students of all specialities. The main requirement – at least one wind instrument in the ensemble. Other instruments are free of choise. The group of ensemble is determined by the oldest member in it. Programme is free although one classic piece is desirable. Five groups of level A three groups of level B and Junior group will be awarded separately. Structure of the competition:
All ensembles are divided into six groups and two categories. Age range depends on November 30, 2017 (how old is the oldest participant on that day).

The Washington International Competition (WIC) was established in 1950 to support outstanding young classical musicians in their pursuit of professional careers. The WIC occurs in a three-year rotation for piano, strings and voice.
The 2018 Competition for Strings semifinals will take place at George Washington University on both Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23. Finals will take place on Sunday, June 24 at the Kennedy Center.

15th International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition
The International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition has taken place annually since 2004 in Poznań, Poland. The 15th edition of the competition will take place on March 24th– 26th, 2018.
The March 2018 competition is eligible to students born after December 31st, 1999.
There are two stages to the competition.
• In Stage I, contestants perform one of the 12 Fantasias for Violin without Bass by Georg Philipp Telemann and one piece of the contestant’s own choice for violin with piano or solo violin. Cyclic works such as suites, sonatas, concertos or parts thereof are not permitted at this stage.
• In Stage II, contestants perform the first or the second and third movements of any chosen violin concerto.

The round-numbered 10th international music competition for soloists and chamber music groups Svirél will once again take place in the inspiring Goriška Brda region and the youthful city of Nova Gorica.
The competition will start with soloists, followed by chamber music groups and each section will be concluded with the concert of the “Ten of the Best”.

The non-governmental association “Club UNESCO Leonardo da Vinci Sofia” organizes the Fourth International Violin Competition “VASCO ABADJIEV” Sofia - Bulgaria 2017, under the Patronage of the Ministry of Culture with support of Sofia Municipality and National Music School “Lyubomir Pipkov”- Sofia.
The international competition for violinists is a part of the project “Shakona” and other initiatives of Club UNESCO “Leonardo da Vinci” Sofia, that has the goal to revive the national and international memory of the great Bulgarian violinist and composer Vasco Abadjiev (1926-1978).
The competition will take place once every two years.
