Odessa International Violin Competition opens a new page in the cultural life of the city that can rightfully be considered the capital of the violin performing arts of Ukraine. Right there in Odessa in 1933, the Special Music School for gifted children was founded by professor Peter Stolyarsky who brought up a generation of outstanding violinists of the 20th century, among which are David Oistrakh and Nathan Milstein. The Stolyarsky School became a factory of talents discovering new names, whose performances captivate audience at the best venues of the world.
The competition is open to young violinists from all countries, and provides an opportunity to receive worldwide recognition and a ticket to a great creative life from the homeland of musicians whose names are written in gold in the world history of classical music.

From 20 to 30 September 2018 the IX International Fritz Kreisler Competition will be held in Vienna.
We wish to invite all young violinists of all nationalities up to the age of 30 to apply before 15 June 2018.
The Final of this world-renowned violin competition will be hosted on 27 and 30 September in the Brahms Hall and the Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein.
A total of € 70.000 in cash prize awards will be granted for six main and six encouragement prizes. In addition, for the first three prize winners, concert engagements and CD recordings will be organised to support their future careers, including - in case of outstanding artistic quality of the first prize winner - a solo performance with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

3. Rising Stars Grand Prix – International Music Competition Berlin 2018
The 3. Rising Stars Grand Prix – International Music Competition Berlin 2018 will be held in the following disciplines: PIANO, STRINGS, WIND INSTRUMENTS, ACCORDEON, PERCUSSION, VOICE, LIED DUO and CHAMBER MUSIC and is open to every musician from all over the world.
All competitors can choose a free program of any classical music period. Each discipline is divided into different age categories.
There is no age limit for the participants.
The prize winner concert will take place in the prestigious PHILHARMONIE BERLIN on 26. June 2018.
All competitors are required to submit video recording materials for the audition and qualified judges will evaluate them. The final selection of winners will be based solely on the video recordings submitted.

"Il Piccolo Violino Magico"
“Il Piccolo Violino Magico” is an International Competition that will be held in San Vito al Tagliamento (Italy) from 4th to 8th July 2018.
It's reserved to young talented violinists aged 9 to 13 years and will consist in three different rounds. In the first two each candidate will perform accompanied by the string ensemble “Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni”: at the end of the semifinals 3 candidates will be selected and admitted to the final round where they will perform a solo-repertoire accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

The International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2018 for Violin Junior
will take place on 21th and 22th April 2018 at the International Music Academy in Düsseldorf/ Germany.
Violinists Violinists between the ages of 8 and 15 years old may take part in this competition. The competition will take place in two rounds, from which the Jury will decide the winners. The first round will be completed via video link on YouTube. The final round will take place in two categories in the International Music Academy in Düsseldorf/Germany.

Eligible candidates are graduate and post-graduate musicians (instrumental, vocal, composition) of exceptional talent who wish to pursue advanced artistic studies in Paris, France during the upcoming academic year.
The HHW Scholarship is a private grant awarded under the auspices of the Fondation des Etats-Unis. It offers its winners numerous advantages, including:

6International Competition of Chamber Ensembles Musical Aquarelle
International competition of chamber ensembles “Musical Aquarelle –2018” will take place on March 7-11 at Anykščiai music school. This competition gives an opportunity for young musicians to reveal their performing capabilities in chamber music also experience participating in international competition and diversity of performances.
We are glad to welcome pupils and students of all specialities. The main requirement – at least one wind instrument in the ensemble. Other instruments are free of choise. The group of ensemble is determined by the oldest member in it. Programme is free although one classic piece is desirable. Five groups of level A three groups of level B and Junior group will be awarded separately. Structure of the competition:
All ensembles are divided into six groups and two categories. Age range depends on November 30, 2017 (how old is the oldest participant on that day).

2018 Washington International Competition for Strings
The Washington International Competition (WIC) was established in 1950 to support outstanding young classical musicians in their pursuit of professional careers. The WIC occurs in a three-year rotation for piano, strings and voice.
The 2018 Competition for Strings semifinals will take place at George Washington University on both Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23. Finals will take place on Sunday, June 24 at the Kennedy Center.

15th International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition
The International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition has taken place annually since 2004 in Poznań, Poland. The 15th edition of the competition will take place on March 24th– 26th, 2018.
The March 2018 competition is eligible to students born after December 31st, 1999.
There are two stages to the competition.
• In Stage I, contestants perform one of the 12 Fantasias for Violin without Bass by Georg Philipp Telemann and one piece of the contestant’s own choice for violin with piano or solo violin. Cyclic works such as suites, sonatas, concertos or parts thereof are not permitted at this stage.
• In Stage II, contestants perform the first or the second and third movements of any chosen violin concerto.
