Academie Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France

The Summer Academy will take place at the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier (South of France) from 5 to 20 July 2024. The programme is intensive; a detailed schedule will be sent to selected candidates after the final audition.
All rehearsals and activities are compulsory. The ambitious nature of the programmes requires candidates to arrive at the Académie having prepared their scores individually.

The 20 academicians will be accompanied by 13 soloist tutors from the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France;
- individual tutoring
- group tutoring (orchestral parts)
- chamber music tutoring
- workshop with the music director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Mikko Franck
- 1 immersive symphonic concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by Mikko FRANCK on 10 July 2024 (including Mahler's Symphony No. 4)
- 1 immersive symphonic concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by Sir John Eliot GARDINER on 16 July 2024 (including Tchaikovsky's Symphony - No. 2)
- 1 chamber music programme on 14 July 2024
- 1 chamber orchestra programme on 18 July 2024
- 1 Academy concert programme on 19 July 2024 with a world premiere commissioned especially for the Academy.

The two symphony concerts will be recorded and broadcast live on France Musique.
Tutors from the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France will play alongside the Académie members at the symphony concerts and at some of the chamber music concerts.

The Radio France Festival will cover the full cost of the academicians' stay (travel, accommodation in a single room and meals) from 5 to 20 July 2024.

Travel and accommodation expenses for the audition in Paris may be eligible for financial assistance, subject to a review of the applications and a justified request from the finalists.
This procedure will be specified in the audition invitation email.
