The Sophie Westenholz Academy of the Mecklenburg State Orchestra is accepting new scholarship holders at the start of the 2024/25 season! The academy supports young, highly qualified musicians from all over the world in their development into members of top international orchestras. As mentors, musicians from the Staatskapelle support the scholarship holders, prepare the repertoire with them and introduce them to their playing tradition. The academy members take part in rehearsals, concerts and performances of the Staatskapelle and the State Theatre (up to 16 services per month), present themselves to the Schwerin audience in their own academy concerts and receive further support through offers such as audition training and workshops on physical techniques, mental training, etc. The scholarship amounts to €1000 per month. The sponsorship period is initially for one season, with the possibility of extension for a maximum of one further season. Maximum age at the start of funding: 27 years
Application and travelling expenses cannot be reimbursed.
