Christian Wanka, born 1973, started his career as a bowmaker with an apprenticeship under guidance of his father in 1992 which he has finished in 1995 with the federal winner award in the bow making craft (highest national rating in the journeyman’s exam). In the connection he worked as a journeyman in his fathers workshop.
In 2000 he left the home workbench for a 6-month working stay at The Sound Post in Toronto, Canada. More valuable experience for his work he collected at a study seminar with the US bowmaker William Salchow, New York.
2002 he did his master examination in bow making under the auspices of the chamber of trade Chemnitz.
Since 2004 he leads the workshop of his father and continues the family tradition.

Christian Wanka, geb 1973, begann seine Ausbildung zum Bogenmacher im Jahre 1992 bei seinem Vater, die er 1995 als Bundessieger im Bogenmacherhandwerk abschloss. Anschließend arbeitete er als Geselle in der väterlichen Werkstatt.
Im Jahr 2000 verließ er die heimische Werkbank für einen sechsmonatigen Arbeitsaufenthalt bei der Firma The Sound Post in Toronto, Kanada. Weitere wertvolle Erfahrungen für seine Arbeit sammelte er unter anderem bei einem Studienseminar mit dem Bogenmacher William Salchow, New York.
2002 legte er vor der Handwerkskammer Chemnitz seine Meisterprüfung im Bogenmacherhandwerk ab.
Seit 2004 führt er die Werkstatt seines Vaters und setzt die Tradition fort.
