The Franco-Czech Music Academy Telč was founded in 1995 as a unique European music project, connecting Czech and French culture. The project founders are the Municipality of Telč, the French Embassy and the French Institute in Prague.
The Academy offers international master classes for all young musicians, but mainly for students of conservatories and universities of music. There is no age limit. Since its beginnings, the Academy concept has been based on the linking of European traditions of French woodwind and Czech string schools. It is the best academy of its kind in the Czech Republic, having the highest professional level in all regards. Students are offered a number of privat and chamber music lessons, public performances in the most charming places of the region.
Since 2016, the Academy has included Music Management Live Lectures offering a workshop of important steps in a musical career. Special awards for a performance of contemporary piece or a piece by Bohuslav Martinů.
