A week of lessons for young violinists, violists and cellists aged 8 to 18 at Zell an der Pram Castle in Upper Austria. The course prepares students for competitions such as Jugend musiziert and Prima la Musica, or for an exam, and helps them polish pieces they have already studied. Students choose their own program, ideally with their teacher.
Each student has a daily individual lesson of 40 or 80 minutes, depending on the booking, with a piano accompanist. The week includes stage training, workshop concerts and the public final concert in the castle’s fresco hall. The teachers select who performs. Supervisors look after the students from morning to bedtime and run the leisure program. Faculty: Raphael Brunner, Mirjam Brüllmann and Isabel Schneider (violin and viola), Heidi Eidenberger and Eberhard Staiger (violin), Marlene Duschlbauer (cello).
Teaching languages: German and English. Course fee €390 with 40 minutes a day or €720 with 80 minutes, plus a €140 administration fee. Accommodation at the castle from €407. External participants are accepted in exceptional cases.
